13 people were fined for gathering at a car park in Basildon
Officers warned two young men in Brentwood they did not constitute a bubble and should return to their respective homes, one of which was outside Essex, on Wednesday, 3 February.
Later that evening, officers found the pair were still out and issued them with fixed penalty notices (FPN).
A person in Grays was also fined for having people from multiple households gather at their property two days later.
On Sunday, 7 February, two men were riding off-road bikes in Purfleet and issued FPNs for making an unnecessary journey and being from different households.
A couple who travelled from Devon to London for a hospital appointment was directed back home after stopping off to stay with family in Benfleet. Records showed their appointment was not for another nine days.
Officers also issued fines to people in Colchester, Southend, Basildon, and Prittlewell.
They have urged anyone thinking about organising a social gathering or making a non-essential journey to reconsider.
“Our officers will continue to take a common sense approach to the government’s regulations,” said a spokesperson for Essex Police. “They will continue to engage with people, explain the regulations and encourage them to do the right thing.
“But, where reasoned conversation is not successful, we will consider enforcement action.
