Afrax Ahmed, 30, of Greenwich, ran the woman over in Windrush Road at around 9.35am on Sunday, 12 July 2020.
He also assaulted another woman and both victims were taken to hospital.
Ahmed was arrested at the scene and assaulted an emergency worker while in custody.
“Afrax Ahmed deliberately ran over the victim intending to kill her,” said Detective Constable Emma Barnes.
“His actions left her with serious injuries that will take a long time to recover from, both physically and mentally.”
Ahmed pleaded guilty to attempted murder and assaulting an emergency worker at Basildon Crown Court yesterday.
He had previously admitted a charge of ABH.
The 30-year-old is due to be sentenced at the same court on Thursday, 6 May.
“Ahmed has at least admitted his guilt meaning the victim won’t be subjected to re-living the ordeal through a trial,” added DC Emma Barnes.
