Around 25 firefighters and four fire engines were called to a blaze in Brockton Close at 2.10am yesterday.
Seven people left the building and one man was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
Part of the ground, first floor and roof of the property were damaged by the fire.
A wooden gazebo and hot tub in the rear garden were also destroyed.
Firefighters brought the fire under control by 4.10am.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
Crews from Harold Hill, Dagenham, Ilford and Hornchurch attended the scene.
