Water has been pouring into a gutter and down White Hart Lane for at least two months according to concerned resident Dave Ainsworth.
“I’ve three times reported this on Essex & Suffolk Water Company’s website,” said Dave.
“Twice they’ve confirmed this leakage and informed me that, as it’s from Havering Council property, it’s been reported it to the Council.
“It’s appalling when considering so many parts of our modern world lack freely available plentiful clean water, we tolerate a loss of thousands of gallons of this precious commodity.”
A spokesperson for Havering Council said they have been working with Essex and Suffolk Water to find the source of the leak.
“Repair work is scheduled to take place this week, which should fix the problem,” they said.
But Dave thinks it should not have taken this long to resolve the problem.
“Havering Council has major demarcation issues,” he added.
“Ask almost anyone who reports matters to our Council and they’ll be referred to different Departments and personnel who’ll all say it’s somebody else’s task.”
