Based inside a pharmacy in Rush Green Road, the post office is set to shut for good from 12pm on Saturday, 12 June.
The owner of the building will no longer let the Post Office use it and the Postmaster has resigned according to a spokesperson for Post Office.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure of this branch as we know how important a Post Office is to the community,” said the spokesperson.
“We are currently investigating the options available which will enable us to reinstate a Post Office service to the local community.”
The vacancy is being advertised online here.
Until then residents are being advised to use alternative branches in Brentwood Road, Romford, and London Road, Romford.
The pharmacy which shares the building is currently being run by Safedale.
It might be taken over by a new company but nothing has been finalised yet according to a spokesperson for Safedale.
