Rush Green post office to remain open following fears of closure

A post office in Rush Green Road will no longer be closing. 

It was set to shut at 12pm on Saturday, 12 June after the Postmaster decided to resign. 

The news sparked concerns elderly residents may not be able to easily access a post office as the two closest branches are in Romford. 

However, the Postmaster has changed his mind and the site will remain open as normal. 

A spokesperson for the Post Office said: “The Postmaster for Rush Green Post Office has withdrawn his resignation and the branch will no longer be closing on Saturday 12 June at 12pm.

“The branch will remain open as normal.”
