Elderly woman dies after collision with van in Dagenham

An elderly woman has died following a collision with a van in Dagenham.

The 72-year-old pedestrian and vehicle collided in Princess Parade, New Road yesterday morning just before 11am.

Emergency services, including the Met Police, London Ambulance Services and the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) attended the scene and found the woman with life threatening injuries.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the location and her next of kin have been informed.

The driver stopped at the scene.

No arrests have been made.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward as enquiries continue.
