One man was assaulted after an altercation broke out involving two vehicles at the junction of Langston Road and Chigwell Lane, on Thursday, 4 August at around 7.25pm.
Both vehicles left the area but the victim was later found in the Church Hill area and taken to hospital.
The victim’s condition is no longer being described as life-threatening.
Two people were initially arrested.
Junior Lawrence, 22, of New North Road has since been charged with GBH with intent and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 6 August.
A 19-year-old woman from Romford was also arrested and released on bail until the end of the month.
