Insulate Britain protestors block entrance to Blackwall Tunnel

Police have arrested 38 Insulate Britain protestors for blocking several roads this morning. 

Environmental campaigners blocked traffic near the Blackwall Tunnel, the North Circular and Wandsworth Bridge. 

That’s despite a government injunction giving police tougher powers in order to prevent the activists from stopping motorists.

There were long delays through Greenwich, Blackheath and Lewisham as a result.

It’s the eleventh protest in three weeks which has also seen them bringing traffic to a standstill on the M25 in Thurrock, Hertfordshire, Surrey and Kent.

Protestors have also previously blocked parts of the M4.
