The mum of a pedestrian who died following a two-vehicle collision in Buckhurst Hill has paid tribute to her daughter.

Chalize Vitalis-Lovell, 19, from Buckhurst Hill, was hit by a car and van in Buckhurst Way on Tuesday, 12 October.

Sadly, she died at the scene.

Paying tribute to her, her mum said in a statement: “Chalize was a much loved passionate, strong, kind caring young lady with her whole life ahead of her.

“She was very much a family person and would stand up for what she believes in.

“She was fantastic at her job in child care and was looking forward to becoming a mum herself one day.

“Her family and friends are extremely heartbroken at this time and trying to come to terms with the fact that we will never see her again.

“She was the best daughter a mum could ever wish for”.

The driver of the van, from Harlow, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

The 28-year-old has since been released under investigation while we continue our enquiries.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “We need anyone who saw what happened or has any CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage to contact us.

“If you have any information you can submit a report online at https://www.essex.police.uk or use the ‘Live Chat’ button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.

“Please quote incident 1121 of 12 October.

“You can also call us on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
