Man arrested for chasing victim with pickaxe near school in Harold Hill

Police have arrested a man who was allegedly seen wielding a pickaxe near a school in Harold Hill.

The suspect was said to be chasing another man in Lindfield Road, close to Drapers’ Brookside Infant School, shortly before 8.45am on Wednesday, 10 November.

Officers were called to the area and arrested a man on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon. 

They recovered a pickaxe at the scene. 

The officers also searched for the alleged victim but could not find him. They believe he knew the suspect. 

There were no reports of any injuries and detectives are investigating the incident.
