Daren Cohen, 33, and three other men broke into the factory in Reginald Road in January 2020.
Edward Nadif, 33, of Newham, threatened the sole occupant of the address with an imitation firearm while his accomplices stole the cannabis plants.
Police were called to the scene and arrested Nadiff before he could escape.
They searched the area and detained Cohen alongside Dominic Fowls, 27, of Maldon, and Kris Tiller, 39, of Wickford.
All four men pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary while Nadif also admitted to possession of an imitation firearm.
Nadif was sentenced to nine years imprisonment and Cohen was jailed for seven and a half years.
Fowls was jailed for six and a half years while Tiller was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment.
“Following a painstaking and diligent investigation which compiled a weight of evidence, all four men were left with no option but to plead guilty to their crimes,” said Detective Sergeant Keith Faris, of the North East Area Burglary and Robbery Team.
“Criminality, in particular that involving drugs, brings misery to our communities and I would ask anyone with information about such offending to come and speak to police. We will listen to you and act accordingly to ensure those responsible face justice.”
