A BMW, HGV, tipper lorry and a flatbed truck all collided on the A13 heading westbound at around 12pm today.
The female driver of the BMW had to be cut free from the vehicle by the London Fire Brigade.
“We treated a woman at the scene and took her to a major trauma centre,” said a spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service.
“We also took a child – who was uninjured – to hospital.” The woman’s injuries are not life-threatening.
There were no other reported injuries and no arrests have been made.
The road was been closed just before Manor Road and the Canning Town flyover while emergency services dealt with the scene.
It has since been reopened.
The incident happened following another collision on the same road earlier in the day.
A motorbike collided with a car on the A13, heading westbound at the A117, at around 9.20am.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
No arrests were made after the incident.
