Young girl rushed to hospital after being hit by car in Romford

A nine-year-old girl has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Romford. 

The child was struck by the vehicle in Esher Avenue at around 3.30pm yesterday. 

An air ambulance was called to the scene and quickly took her to hospital for treatment.

Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police closed the road while emergency services were on the scene but they have since been re-opened.
