Anyone who witnessed the attack has been asked to contact police
The teenager was attacked in High Road at around 4.35pm on Thursday, 10 March.
An air ambulance rushed him to hospital where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening.
Police have established a crime scene in the area which remains in place.
Following 2 serious incidents on the Borough a Section 60 (see map for relevant area) has been authorised by Insp Brooks. This is to detect weapons and prevent crime/dosorder.

They are appealing for witnesses to contact them by calling 101 and quoting incident CAD 5137/10Mar.
