Appeal: Man assaulted at Upminster station

The victim suffered a broken nose due to the attack

British Transport Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted at Upminster station.

Two men were approached by another man who began making violent threats towards them while they were travelling on a service from Fenchurch Street to Upminster at around 5.15pm on Tuesday, 15 March.

They moved away from the suspect to a different carriage but the man followed them. When the train arrived at Upminster the men got off and tried to board a different carriage again but the other man continued to pursue them.

As the two men boarded the train, the suspect pulled one of them back onto the platform floor. He pulled the victim further along the platform and punched and kicked him in the face.

The other man intervened and pulled the victim back onto the train while the suspect continued to try and attack him.

The victim suffered a broken nose, cut lip and other facial injuries such as bruising due to the assault.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened.
