Lorry driver dies after vehicle overturns on A13 in Rainham

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward

A lorry driver has died after his vehicle overturned in Rainham. 

The crashed happened on the eastbound A13 at the Ferry Lane Interchange at around 6am on Thursday, 25 August. 

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were sent to the area. 

A man aged in his 50s, who was driving the lorry, died at the scene. 

Officers are currently in the process of informing his next of kin. 

There were no other reported injuries. 

The eastbound carriageway is closed between the Ferry Lane Interchange and the Wennington Interchange. Drivers are encouraged to find an alternative route.

Anyone with information or dash cam footage of the incident is asked to call the police on 101 quoting CAD 1340/25Aug.
