King George Hospital will hold a special Polio vaccination clinic this Wednesday (Credit: BHRUT)
“There are signs that the virus is spreading in London and the number of children vaccinated is lower than it should be,” said a spokesperson for Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Around 500 appointments are being offered at a special clinic at King George Hospital on Wednesday, 26 October from 8.30am until 8pm.
The clinic is targeted at children aged between six and nine-years-old, who are up to date with the Polio vaccinations and had their pre-school booster at least 12 months ago.
Several other clinics are being held in Havering, Barking and Dagenham and Redbridge throughout the week. More details about them can be found online here.
Residents who want to avoid queues can book an appointment online but people can also simply walk into the clinic on the day to be seen. Parents are asked to bring their child’s red book.
