Police called to the Blackwall Tunnel this afternoon
Officers were called to the scene in Greenwich just after midday, alongside London Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service.
Police closed the road in both directions at around 12.45pm.
The closure remains – queues are heading back to the Bow Interchange southbound and back to Woolwich Road Flyover northbound – with bus route 108 on diversion.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area.
#INCIDENT | Blackwell Tunnell is currently shut in both directions and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
Police were called shortly after midday to reports of a concern for welfare of a man on top of the tunnel.
