The 19-year-old was taken to hospital after colliding with barriers on the A13 in Newham at around 07:00 this morning.
His family have been informed.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said, “We were called at 7:07am today to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle on Newham Way, E6.
“We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance by road.
“We treated a person at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre.”
Police would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident and may have dashcam footage.

The A13 Newham Way in both directions was closed till just before 15:00 as police investigated.
