The 31-year-old was detained on suspicion of handling stolen goods, following a proactive operation by the Metropolitan Police yesterday.
Officers from the Met’s Proactive Money Laundering Team observed the man enter an underground car park at an office block in Barking.
They stopped him and searched his vehicle, in which they discovered a holdall containing approximately 20 brand new iPhone 11 Pro’s.
In a statement, the Met said: “Through enquiries it became apparent that the suspect rented an office within the building in Barking that he was stopped at.
“A search of his office led to the seizure of approximately £250,000 worth of stock, including 200 iPhones, iPads and £50,000 in cash.”
The man was taken into custody and has since been released while police continue their investigation.
