Thurrock Council have created the Business Adaptation Grant for small to medium businesses
The Business Adaptation Grant is available to local small to medium sized businesses that have been hit by the cost of implementing Covid-19 related safety measures.
Thurrock Council has developed the grant programme to help with changes such as temporary social-distancing measures, outdoor seating, training and new online infrastructure.
Councillor Shane Hebb, Cabinet Member for Finance, said, “It offers a new lifeline as we continue to follow the government’s roadmap out of lockdown.
“The council is here to help and we know what an important role small to medium businesses play in our local economy and we want to make sure that they get the support they need to enable Thurrock’s economic recovery.”
Businesses can apply for a 50% match-funded payment of between £1,000 and £2,500.
The discretionary grant is being distributed on a first-come first-served basis.
