A 22-year-old man was attacked from behind by three males as he walked along St Georges Road at 10.15pm on Friday, 29 October.
The attackers stole £20 before knocking him to the floor and jointly attacking him.
The victim suffered a broken leg as well as head and facial injuries. He was rushed to hospital and his treatment is still ongoing.
“We know that there were a number of witnesses who filmed this extremely violent robbery and I would like to hear from anyone who was there, or has information concerning the identity of the suspects, who has not yet spoken to us,” said Detective Constable Tiffany Africa.
“The suspects left the scene in a dark coloured car and I am also keen to see footage, or receive information, concerning that vehicle.
“This seemingly motiveless attack has resulted in a young man sustaining lasting injuries – if you have information please do the right thing and share what you know.”
Anyone with information or footage should call police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting 8133/29NOV.
