It happened yesterday afternoon around 3.40pm on Hanging Hill Lane leading to the road being closed for several hours for recovery work to happen.
The 18-year-old rider on a Yamaha motorbike and a Renault Kangoo were involved in the incident.
The rider was taken to hospital with pelvic injuries which are not believed to life-threatening and is currently in a stable condition.
Anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to call the Chigwell Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting the incident number 725 of 25/03.
No arrests have been made.
