This week my legs are aching! Not in sympathy of Tom Goldsmith though. He ran the London marathon to raise money for http://www.productofapostcode.co.uk/ a charity that has been set up to help children achieve their dreams through education, working with underprivileged children through schools, sports clubs, youth clubs and community centres.

Instead, I was part of a full day audition for N Act theatres latest theatre in education show ‘ I thought the liked me’ touring schools in Essex and London throughout June and July.

This audition involved divising scenes using a stimulus AND a street dancing and movement workshop. An interesting look at how we can portray a message or story through movement.The aches are all worth it though! As this new show is an important production about the growing concern of gang and knife crime and has been commissioned by Southend Police.
The play explores how to keep yourself safe from the growing culture of gangs. It uses facts and statistics from Southend Police and the LSCB, and the thoughts and ideas from young people in our partner schools.
This hard hitting and topical play tours schools from June and is suitable for year 9 upwards.
The play and workshop combined lasts about 50 mins and the package includes an information sheet and follow up material for Drama, PSHE and tutor programmes.
