Zero new coronavirus deaths recorded at King George and Queen’s hospitals

No new coronavirus deaths have been recorded at King George and Queen’s hospitals in the week up to Wednesday, 7 April.

Figures from the trust, which runs the two facilities in Goodmayes and Romford respectively, show that the number of people who have died within 28 days of having a positive Covid-19 test remains at 1,618.

Five fewer people have been treated for Covid-19 at the two hospitals during the previous seven days, with there currently being 19 in-patients with laboratory confirmed coronavirus.

The number of people in critical care with coronavirus has also decreased. Eight people are in intensive care with Covid-19, compared to 10 patients during the previous week.

4,887 patients with coronavirus have now recovered and have been discharged from the two hospitals.
