The theatre is looking for a diverse group of artists who are “truly South Essex”
Performers, directors, designers, choreographers, composers, musical directors and stage managers from across Essex are needed for an “exciting new collaborative” show by Queen’s Theatre.
The Creative Estuary project will produce a new piece of theatre to tour community venues across the region and serve under-represented audiences.
The government-supported project is part of “an ambitious creative programme taking place along the length of the Thames Estuary in Kent and Essex.”
A spokesperson for the theatre said: “We want to make this with a diverse range of artists all living in the area itself, so it’s truly South Essex in its roots, helping build a regional community of creative practitioners, and fostering further relationships into the future.”
Creatives from South Essex, especially those living in Thurrock, Castlepoint, Southend on Sea, Basildon, and south Brentwood district, should contact douglas@queens-theatre.co.uk to find out more.
In the email, use the subject line ‘Creative Estuary project callout’ and in the body explain “why you’d love to make collaborative work about the area in which you live,” and attach a CV.
The deadline to apply is Wednesday, 31 March.
