Eight males have been arrested by police following raids targeting moped crime in east London.
Six properties were raided in Havering, Newham and Tower Hamlets yesterday.
The eight males were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to handle stolen goods and encouraging and assisting offenders.
Around £30,000 in cash was recovered, as well as 20-30 mobile phones, laptops and camera equipment.
The suspects remain in custody.
Detective Inspector Steve Brownlee, Operation Venice, said: “The Met Police is actively targeting moped criminals to ensure we keep the public safe and make offending difficult for those intent on committing these crimes.
“Today’s operation has been incredibly successful and will have seriously dented the organised group assisting with the distribution of stolen property abroad from moped snatches.”
