Fire crews have been called to Raven Close, off of Crow Lane.
Footage of the blaze shows large amounts of smoke coming from the building, while residents flee and firefighters rush to tackle the flames.
It is not yet known if anyone has been injured.

The fire broke out at around 4.25pm today.
In a statement, London Fire Brigade has said: “Eight fire engines and around 40 firefighters are tackling a fire in a block of flats on Raven Close in Romford.
“The whole of the roof is alight.
“Fire crews from Hornchurch, Harold Hill, Dagenham, Romford, Ilford, Hainualt and Barking fire stations are at the scene.
“The cause of the blaze is not known at this stage.”
