Roger, the Cairn Terrier, was stuck in a void located beneath a concrete plinth on Monday, 7 February at a park on St Johns Road.
Crews used a snake eye camera in a bid to help locate him.
They used a range of specialist tools to help Roger escape and reunite him with his owner.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters love animals too and we are ready, willing, and able to assist distressed or injured animals, the last thing we want is for people to put themselves at risk rescuing an animal themselves
“We do encourage people to call the RSPCA in the first instance and we will assist if our specialist equipment is required, as in this case.”
A fire engine from Romford Fire Station was dispatched as was a rescue unit from Edmonton Fire Station.
They were able to have Roger free and reunited with his owner at around half 12 having been at the scene for just under two hours.
