Cause of flat fire in Waltham Forest under investigation

The cause of a fire at a flat in Waltham Forest is under investigation after five fire engines attended the scene.

London Fire Brigade were called to Leyton Green Road at 1.23pm on Thursday, 14 January as crews from Leyton, Leytonstone, Stratford, Woodford and Stoke Newington fire stations attended.

35 firefighters tackled the blaze at an 11-storey block of flats where part of a five-roomed flat on the sixth floor was damaged by the fire.

The fire was brought under control at 2.08pm.

No injuries have been reported after two people left the flat before the London Fire Brigade arrived.
