Free Christmas attractions are returning to Romford Market

Romford Market will be open every day between Friday, 10 December till Christmas Eve

Free Christmas attractions are returning to Romford Market this December.

The historic market will be extending its hours in the run up to the big day, being open everyday from Friday, 10 December right up till Christmas Eve.

Attractions include Santa’s Post Box, at the market between 10th and 18th, a place where children will be able to send off their Christmas letter and receive a personalised reply.

There will also be a mini fun fair featuring a number of rides including mini bumper cars and a chair o’ plane. It is running from December 15 up until the 24th.

On December 18 there will be a free mini Christmas concert, between 12pm and 3pm, giving residents the opportunity  to enjoy some live performances and dances.

The market is also going to have a free gift wrapping station, allowing you to wrap up any gifts you purchase from Romford Market.

Residents will be able to enjoy all of these exciting attractions and be able to park for free in council car parks throughout the festive period.

Councillor Damian White, leader of Havering Council, said: “The Market Place has long been the heart and soul of Romford town centre and is a proud part of Havering’s heritage.

“I hope that the extended trading hours, free entertainment, fun activities and free weekend parking will encourage everyone to come along and show their support for our Market and to really get into the festive spirit.”
