The victim was injured during a fight in Forest Lane at around 10.30pm yesterday (Wednesday, 28 November).
Police say his wound was “minor” and the are no reports of any other injuries. He was taken to hospital for treatment to his hand and also to injuries he suffered jumping onto the train tracks.
No arrests have been made.
We are investigating an incident at around 10.30pm on Weds in which a 25yo man sustained a minor stab wound to his hand in Forest Lane #Newham. The man then jumped onto a railway line. No arrest and no reports of other people injured. Enquiries are ongoing.

The incident caused significant delays on trains heading out of Liverpool Street, with TfL and Greater Anglia services being affected.
Many passengers tweeted about being stuck on trains which were not moving.
Some services were diverted to Fenchurch Street as a result.

It is understood a separate incident on a Greater Anglia train led to an emergency stop lever being pulled near Romford station which added to the delays.Tags: Newham, Forest Gate, Public Transport
