The awards ceremony will be hosted by Time 107.5 FM’s Mark Dover
The awards’ ceremony is a community led event which gives Havering residents the chance to reward their favourite local businesses.
It’s being run by Havering Council and will involve ten separate categories.
These are; Best Small or Independent Business, Best Beauty or Service Business, Best Take Away, Best Hospitality Business, Best Tradesperson, Best Customer Experience, Best Shopfront, Best Social Enterprise or CIC, Best Newcomer (less than a year old).
The businesses with the most nominations for each category will then go through to a final round which will be decided by the public through online polls.
The winner from each of those nine categories will then all be in with a chance of winning the final award, the eponymous Havering Small Business of the Year Award.
A panel made up of the council and sponsors will then decide who wins.
You have until January 30 to nominate your local business and can do so through the Havering Council’s website.
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in March which will be hosted by Time 107.5’s Mark Dover.
Leader of Havering Council Damian White said, “These awards are our chance to recognise the many shining examples of small businesses in our great borough, especially as they have been experiencing some tough times recently.
“Whether it’s your local chip shop that always serves the best fish and chips, that small boutique you couldn’t live without, or a tradesperson who is always on-call if you need them, this is your chance to show these businesses what they mean to you – and to Havering.
“These awards are community-led, so it’s up to you, the people of Havering, to come forward and tell us the businesses that deserve these awards.”
