Police officer cleared of misconduct in Hornchurch

A serving police officer has been cleared of an allegation of misconduct in Hornchurch.

PC Charlie Raeside had been accused of using excessive force whilst detaining a teenager who tried to runaway from police on Roneo Corner in August 2019.

The matter was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, who recommended that the case go to a misconduct hearing.

Yesterday (24 March), the independent Legally Qualified Chair Akbar Khan found that the allegations were not proven.
