Brentwood High Street remains closed to traffic as officers investigate
Officers were called in the early hours to reports of an altercation on High Street.
Two men in their 20s were found to be injured and taken to hospital where their injuries are described as not life-changing or life-threatening.
Brentwood High Street remained closed to traffic until 11:30 as officers carried out investigations in to what happened.
Investigating officer Detective Inspector Tony Atkin, said: “I appreciate Saturday morning is a busy time in Brentwood, and I would like to assure shoppers and businesses that we will open the road as soon as it is possible to do so.
“You can expect to see an increased police presence in Brentwood town centre today as we carry out our enquiries, particularly into this evening.
“I would like to appeal to anyone who was in High Street at around 2.30am and who witnessed this disturbance to get in touch with my team.”
Anyone with any information is being asked to call 101 and cite incident 181 of December 11.
