Police appealing for witnesses following fatal collision in Ilford

Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision in Ilford which killed a 54-year-old man. 

Officers were called, alongside the London Ambulance Service, to reports of a traffic incident involving a van and a pedestrian just after 20:00 on Tuesday, 23 November on Eastern Avenue. 

The pedestrian, a 54-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital who despite the best efforts of medical staff died in the early hours of Wednesday morning. 

Police have informed the man’s next of kin who are being supported by specialist officers. 

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and is currently helping police with their enquires. 

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have dashcam or doorbell footage of the incident to come forward.
