“False alarm” as police rush to Romford near the scene yesterday’s stabbing

Police say a “false alarm” led to four police cars and several officers rushing to Victoria Road this morning.

The officers were called to provide extra assistance to a possible domestic incident at around 11am today.

But a Met Police spokesperson said it turned out to be a false alarm.

The large presence was near to Atlanta Boulevard, where a 19-year-old man was stabbed yesterday.

He has since been discharged from hospital and two men have been arrested.

Police cars parked in Victoria Road.

Jane, who works in Images Beauty Clinic in Victoria Road, told Time 107.5 she saw several cars going past her shop.

She said: “All of a sudden they had their lights on. They came out and ran down an alley.”

The officers have since been stood down.
