39 year-old PC Charlie Harrison used his foot to strike a man in his 40s on Serbert Road in 2018.
The victim, who was walking with his 2 sons, fell to the ground and fractured his knee.
PC Harrison was convicted of GBH in March and sentenced to two years and three months in prison.
On Tuesday (18 May), a special case hearing found the officer’s actions had fallen well below the expected standard.
Commander Paul Betts, said, “This is a very serious matter with PC Harrison jailed following his conviction for GBH.
“This type of behaviour has no place in our police service.”
PC Harrison will also be placed on the College of Policing’s barred list.
