The victim was attacked while he was playing with friends in Little Ilford Park in April.
He’d been playing cricket and riding his bike when the trio approached him and accused him of giving them a funny look.
Later, the victim went to leave the park with his friends and was again approached by the defendants, two aged 16 and one who was 14, with one of them brandishing a knife.
He was then stabbed, his cricket bat was taken and he was hit over the head with it.
The victim initially had life-threatening injuries with the stab wound to his chest only two inches from his heart. He also suffered a collapsed lung and a head injury.
As a result of the injuries he was hospitalised for two weeks.
All three attackers fled the park along Gainsborough Avenue but CCTV helped police find them hiding shortly afterwards.
The footage showed the boys “smiling and in good spirits.”
The 16-year-old attacker who stabbed the victim, pleaded guilty to GBH with intent ahead of a trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
The others, aged 14 and 16 were found guilty of the same offence.
All three will be sentenced on Monday, 1 October.Tags: Manor Park, Little Ilford
