West Ham ‘could issue life bans’ following London Stadium crowd trouble

West Ham say they will issue life bans to any fan found guilty of invading the pitch during Saturday’s defeat to Burnley at the London Stadium.

The club will also request courts serve a banning order to prevent them from attending any football matches in general.

Supporters protested against the board during the game and many congregated below the directors’ box, where co-owner David Sullivan says he was hit by a coin.

West Ham say emergency meetings to guarantee safety are continuing.

Senior Club representatives will meet with stewarding company LS185, Newham Council, the Sports Ground Safety Authority, the Metropolitan Police, and the London Legacy Development Corporation with policing and stewarding for future fixtures at London Stadium set to be discussed.
