It will feature a five-a-side football tournament featuring over 50 teams along with rugby, boxing and martial arts and dance and DJ workshops.
It’s run by Conscious Links which aims to bring together grassroots organisations to provide solutions to problems young people face.
Its Director Shirley Jackson says, “You have a lot of repeat from West London to East London so we’re trying to bring more organisations to work together.
“We have some great organisations that work with young people and work with families and we’re working to bring these people together in unity so we can build long term solutions.
“We’re absolutely tired of seeing the constant loss of life its not just affecting young people, it affects all walks of life, from all backgrounds and something has got to be done.
“By having football and also rugby, martial arts, boxing, DJ workshops, dance workshops, we’ve got everything going on. So by having all that they’ve got an interest in coming along and getting involved and we can then talk to them.”
Youth Unity Day is being held on 22 June in Dagenham Park. More information can be found here: http://consciouslinks.com/
