The doe became trapped yesterday morning.
The poor creature was found yesterday morning on a pitch at Henderson Sport and Social Club, Kenilworth Avenue, early yesterday morning.
A group of local residents rushed to the doe’s aid after a walker discovered her.
The group cut the net from around her neck but she had sadly passed away.
Havering Councillor Jan Sargent, one of those who helped out, described the ordeal as “heartbreaking.”
She added: “I could tell instantly that she looked pregnant, by the size of her stomach.”
Jan and Shantel Louise, from local volunteer group Harold Hill Deer Aid, as well as Lorraine Stevens, contacted a vet who came to help them perform an emergency caesarian in an attempt to rescue the fawn.
Sadly the fawn had already died as well.
Jan added: “She must have put her head through part of the netting and she must have been struggling and it got tighter and tighter.
“It was two football nets back to back. There was a little rip on the other side but we couldn’t understand how the deer could have actually got in there.”
Henderson Sport and Social Club has been approached for comment.
