The driver of the car involved has been arrested
Emergency services rushed to the junction of Valence Avenue and Green Lane at around 10.25pm yesterday following reports of a crash involving a car and the cyclist.
The man, who is believed to be in his 20s, is in a critical condition in hospital.
The driver of the car was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in custody.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit investigate and have asked foe anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident, to contact them via 101 and quote CAD 7749/10Aug.
This morning, police said enquiries are underway to locate and inform his next of kin.
