Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward
A man got into their home, in Dunmow Gardens, while the victim and her German Shepherd were inside.
The suspect carried out a search and made off with a number of items including a three-figure sum of cash.
It happened at around 3.10pm on Tuesday, 11 February.
The man has been described as tall, slim, and white with tanned skin and wearing dark clothing.
He was also possibly carrying a backpack.
Witnesses, or anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage, are asked to call Essex Police on 101 quoting the crime reference number 42/23338/20 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
