Peter passed away on Sunday
Following an illness, the 87-year-old, of Maidstone Avenue, Collier Row, passed away in King George Hospital on Sunday.
Peter helped found Havering Sports Council in 1967 and had been an enthusiastic activist ever since.
He only had another month to serve as Havering Sports Council President before completing his term of office.
Peter was also Head Coach at Everyone Active Havering Tennis Club.
As a skillful player himself, he played in tennis tournaments around the world in the Masters’ ranks.
His other credits included having regular sports spots on 2 local radio stations, Active FM and Link FM.
Peter was also a devoted West Ham United fan and was a constant season ticket holder.
Havering Council’s Health & Wellbeing Manager, Guy Selfe said: “Peter you will be missed terribly.
“You might be gone but will never be forgotten.
“I hope you are making folk laugh in heaven as much as you made me laugh. A true sporting legend here in Havering.”
