An elderly woman found dead inside a property in Grays has been named.

Winfred Grover was found unresponsive in Lenmore Avenue on Monday, 21 June.

The 89-year-old woman was later pronounced dead.

Cheryl Banks, of Lemore Avenue, Grays, was arrested and has been charged with murder.

The-60-year-old appeared at Basildon Crown Court earlier today.

She was remanded in custody and will reappear at the same court on Friday, 10 September for a pre-trial preparation hearing.

Enquiries into the victim’s death are ongoing.
