Among the incidents yesterday, (Tuesday, 2 January) was a tree which fell on a house in Second Avenue, West Thurrock just before 3.30pm and trapping residents inside.
Crews from Grays and Brentwood cut off branches to release them.
Firefighters from Loughton were called to cut and clear a tree which had fallen in High Road, Chigwell at around 4pm.
Other incidents included a tree which had fallen in Orsett Road, Horndon on the Hill at around 4.20pm.
Shortly after 5pm, the fire service were called to clear another fallen tree from Childerditch Lane in Brentwood.
Crews from Billericay, Chelmsford, Brentwood and Leigh rescued a man from the roof of his vehicle after it got trapped at Buttbury Wash at around 7.30pm.
Elsewhere in the county, the storm caused travel disruption for commuters as the QE 2 Bridge was closed due to the conditions.
Some Greater Anglia services between London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport were also cancelled due to overhead wire problems.
