Man arrested for possession of a firearm outside Romford Town Hall

Officers attended following reports of a firearm being seen

A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm outside Romford Town Hall. 

There were reports of the area being cordoned off and a number of police cars in attendance.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 17.14hrs on Wednesday, 6 October to Main Road, Romford, to reports of a firearm seen.

“Officers attended and a man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

“He has been taken into custody.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
