Man charged with killing fellow Catford care home resident

A care home resident has been charged with murdering a 93-year-old woman in Catford.

Both Eileen Dean and Alexander Rawson, 62, lived at a home on Canadian Avenue before the alleged incident on Monday, 4 January.

The Metropolitan police and London Ambulance Service arrived at the home at 00.40 following reports of an assault.

Ms Dean was taken to hospital where she later died. Her next of kin have been informed. 

Rawson was arrested and charged with murder. He is due to appear at the Old Bailey this afternoon.
